...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 115 PM EDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN LEXINGTON AND NORTHWESTERN RICHLAND COUNTIES...

At 106 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Columbia
International University, or over St. Andrews, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines.

Locations impacted include...
Columbia, Lexington, West Columbia, Cayce, Irmo, Forest Acres, St.
Andrews, Highway 6 at Lake Murray Dam, Oak Grove, Dentsville,
Riverbanks Zoo, SC State Fair Grounds, West Columbia Riverwalk,
Columbia International University, Five Points, Harbison State
Forest, Seven Oaks, Olympia, Rosewood, and Upper Richland Fire
Station.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3.
 Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 59 and 71.
 Interstate 26 between mile markers 99 and 110.
 Interstate 77 near mile marker 9.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Report any hail, damaging winds or flooding directly to the Columbia
National Weather Service when it is safe to do so. You can send
reports by Facebook or X to NWSColumbia or by e-mail at
NWS.Columbia@noaa.gov.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Severe thunderstorms can produce large capsizing waves and frequent
lightning. If on or near Lake Murray move away from the water and
take shelter!

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
