Air temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to lower 80s across the region on Saturday. However, water temperatures remain in the 40s and 50s. In addition, a strong cold front will pass through the waters in the late afternoon into early evening that will cause a strong wind shift and likely drop temperatures by 20 degrees in a matter of a couple of hours. The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia and physical incapacitation to anyone suddenly immersed in the water. When the water temperature is below 60 degrees, the average submerged person could lose dexterity within minutes and be unable to accomplish simple tasks. Anyone on small boats, canoes or kayaks should plan accordingly if recreating on Saturday and use extreme caution to avoid this threat. Several things to consider... * Always wear a life jacket. * Dress for the water temperatures, not air temperatures. Wear cold water protection, like a wetsuit or drysuit. * Carry an Emergency Position Indication Radio Device. * File a float plan with someone you trust. * Check the latest marine weather forecast, including water temperatures at www.weather.gov/okx/marine before you go out on the waters. Your ability to survive cold water immersion depends on your ability to stay afloat and stay warm until help arrives. $$ 915 WHUS54 KHGX 281914 SMWHGX GMZ330-350-281945- /O.NEW.KHGX.MA.W.0010.250328T1914Z-250328T1945Z/ BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Special Marine Warning National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX 214 PM CDT Fri Mar 28 2025 The National Weather Service in League City has issued a * Special Marine Warning for...
