...THUNDERSTORMS WITH GUSTY WINDS AND TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS MOVING 

OFF THE GEORGIA COAST...



The areas affected include...

Waters from Savannah GA to Altamaha Sound GA out 20 NM, including 

Grays Reef National Marine Sanctuary...



* At 555 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, 

  capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and torrential 

  rainfall reducing visibilities to less than 1 NM. These strong 

  thunderstorms were located along a line from over Sea Buoy 2w to 

  over Altamaha Sound, moving east at 10 knots.



Locations impacted include...

  C A T Buoy, Steel Barge Modena, K T K Buoy, Buoy B L, Sapelo Buoy 

  S, St Catherines Buoy 3, Sapelo Channelbuoy 3, Buoy B H, Tug Rio 

  Apon, Buoy Tender Sagebrush, Tug Elmira, Ferry Boat Janet, Buoy J, 

  Saint Catherines Sound and D U A Buoy.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher 

waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek 

safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
