  and Nantucket...

  Coastal Waters from Montauk NY to Marthas Vineyard extending out 

  to 20 nm South of Block Island...

  Coastal waters from Provincetown MA to Chatham MA to Nantucket MA 

  out 20 nm...

  Nantucket Sound...

  Ocean Waters from Marthas Vineyard to Nantucket from 25 to 45 NM 

  offshore...

  Ocean Waters from Montauk NY to Marthas Vineyard from 25 to 40 NM 

  offshore...

  Ocean Waters from Provincetown to Nantucket from 20 to 35 NM 

  offshore...



At 105 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were

located along a line extending from near Point Gammon to 7 nm south

of Muskeget Channel to 15 nm southwest of The Coastal Waters South Of

Marthas Vineyard, moving east at 40 knots.



Locations impacted include...

Hyannisport, The Coastal Waters South Of Nantucket, Nantucket Sound,

Great Point Light On Nantucket, Wasque Point, Brant Point Light,

Nantucket Shoals Buoy, The Coastal Waters East Of Nantucket, Madaket

Harbor, Surfside On Nantucket, Chatham Light, The Coastal Waters

South Of Marthas Vineyard, Muskeget Channel, Stage Harbor Light,

Sankaty Head Light, Monomoy Point, and Point Gammon.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...briefly rough seas and

lightning strikes. Consider heading for safe harbor until these

storms pass.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 115 AM MDT SATURDAY 

FOR CENTRAL LEA COUNTY...



At 1152 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 

heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain 

have fallen, with amounts locally up to 5 inches. Additional 

rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash 

flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



SOURCE...Radar.



IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low-lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Lovington, Tatum, McDonald, Maljamar, Tatum Airport, Knowles and 

  Gladiola.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
