The areas affected include...

Gulf of America including Dry Tortugas and Rebecca Shoal Channel...



At 117 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a

strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.

This thunderstorm was located 11 nm northwest of Tortugas Ecological

Reserve South, moving northwest at 10 knots.



The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally

rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and

potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as

safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.

* At 134 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 13 nm west of

  Tortugas Ecological Reserve North, moving northwest at 10 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher 

           waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours.



* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
