...STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...



The areas affected include...

  Coastal Waters east of Puerto Rico, around Vieques, and around and 

  just north of Culebra and Saint John...

  Coastal Waters from Cabo San Juan to the waters between Anegada 

  Island and Virgin Gorda and North 10 NM...

  Coastal Waters of Southern Puerto Rico out 10 NM...



At 504 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 

over the coastal waters of Vieques, moving northeast at 15 knots. 

Additional thunderstorms are expected to develop across these waters 

during the next hour or so.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek

safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
