Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island Louisiana out 20 to 60 NM... At 455 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak waterspouts. This cluster of thunderstorms is generally located along a line extending from 39 nm south of Farewell Buoy to 35 nm southeast of Southwest Pass Of the Mississippi River, moving northeast at 20 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher waves and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes. Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development. Intense lightning is occurring with these storms.
