...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE CARIBBEAN WATERS AND MONA PASSAGE...



At 245 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms associated 

to the outer rainbands of Tropical Storm Melissa, capable of 

producing winds to around 30 knots, frequent lightning, and 

isolated waterspouts. These thunderstorms were located mainly over

portions of the Caribbean Waters and the Mona Passage, west- 

northwest around 20 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, lightning strikes, possible waterspouts and heavy 

downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this 

storm passes.
