...THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE CARIBBEAN WATERS AND THE MONA PASSAGE...



At 940 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms capable of 

producing winds up to around 30 knots, frequent lightning, and 

isolated waterspouts. These thunderstorms were located mainly over

portions of the western Caribbean Waters and the Mona Passage, 

moving north to northwest at around 20 to 25 knots. Additional 

thunderstorms are expected to develop across these waters. These 

t-storms are associated with the outer rainbands of Tropical Storm

Melissa over the Central Caribbean Sea. The center of Melissa is 

located around 533 miles SE of Cabo Rojo as of the 8 AM Oct 24 

Bulletin.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, lightning strikes, possible waterspouts and heavy 

downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this 

storm passes.
