...DENSE FOG AFFECTING THE NEARSHORE COASTAL WATERS SOUTH OF 

POINT CONCEPTION...



Dense fog is impacting the nearshore waters south of Point

Conception from Santa Barbara south to at least the Orange County

and San Diego County border. Mariners should be prepared for 

abrupt visibility changes of one nautical mile or less. Reduce 

speeds and be on the lookout for exposed rocks and other vessels, 

including large ships in the shipping lanes. Use radar or GPS 

navigation if available, and consider remaining in harbor if such 

equipment is unavailable. Visibilities are excepted to improve by 

the late morning, but patchy dense fog may remain into the 

afternoon.
