A strong cold front is moving southwest across the Gulf Basin and will reach our outer Gulf waters from near L Tower within the next couple of hours. Mariners can expect a sharp and rapid freshening of breezes from the northwest. Current winds speeds across the outer Gulf waters are generally 5 knots or less. Most recently, a buoy located along the Florida West Shelf, located about 60 NM northwest of L Tower, registered a sustained wind of 25 knots, gusting near 30 knots. $$
