The National Weather Service in OXNARD has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Inner waters from Point Mugu to San Mateo Pt. CA including Santa

  Catalina and Anacapa Islands...



* Until 500 PM PST.



* At 403 PM PST, a strong storm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located just off the coast of Newport Beach

  and Laguna Beach, moving east at 20 knots. Additional strong

  storms are expected off the coast of LA and Orange counties. 



  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots, small hail, and possible waterspouts. 



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
