Scattered thunderstorms will continue to track west to east early

this morning across the coastal waters. Any thunderstorm can

produce lightning, small hail, gusty, erratic winds to 35 knots,

choppy, hazardous seas, and a waterspout. 



Mariners should move to safe harbor immediately until the storms

pass. Improving conditions are expected by 6 AM.

* At 144 AM PST, a strong thunderstorm was located 17 nm west of Del

  Mar, moving northeast at 50 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

           suddenly higher waves.



* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
