The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a



* Snow Squall Warning for...

  Northwestern Madison County in southwestern Montana...

  Central Beaverhead County in southwestern Montana...

  Western Jefferson County in southwestern Montana...



* Until 730 AM MST.



* At 639 AM MST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line

  extending from near Butte to 11 miles northeast of Divide to 9

  miles southwest of Twin Bridges to 6 miles southeast of Dillon,

  moving east at 30 mph.



  HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to 

           blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts 

           greater than 50 mph could knock down tree limbs and blow 

           around unsecured objects.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous 

           within minutes.



This includes Interstate 90 between mile markers 254 and 235.

 

Locations impacted include...

Dillon, Boulder, Sheridan, Whitehall, Twin Bridges, Alder, Silver

Star, Basin, Elk Park, Laurin, and Waterloo.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Consider avoiding or delaying travel until the snow squall passes

your location. If you must travel, use extra caution and allow extra

time. Rapid changes in visibility and slick road conditions may lead

to accidents.

  East central Carbon County in south central Wyoming...

  Central Albany County in southeastern Wyoming...



* Until 715 AM MST.



* At 642 AM MST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line

  extending from 14 miles west of Garrett to near Arlington, moving

  northeast at 50 mph.



  HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to 

           blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than 

           one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater than 50 mph could 

           knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.



  SOURCE...Radar and webcams.



  IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous 

           within minutes.



This includes Interstate 80 in Wyoming between mile markers 247 and

295.

 

Locations impacted include...

Medicine Bow, Rock River, Elk Mountain, McFadden, Wheatland Reservoir

Number 3, Garrett, Bow River Campground, Deep Creek Campground, and

Arlington.
