...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS OFF BROWARD COUNTY...



The areas affected include...

  Coastal waters from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef FL out 20 NM...



At 235 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located

over Port Everglades, or over Fort Lauderdale. The thunderstorm was

slowly moving eastward.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek

safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.



Waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on the alert in

case warnings are issued for waterspout development.

* Special Marine Warning for...

  Big Island Southeast Waters...

  Big Island Windward Waters...



* Until 1045 AM HST.



* At 839 AM HST, showers were located along a line extending from 6

  nm southwest of South Point to near Isaac Hale Beach Park, moving

  north at 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

           suddenly higher waves.

  Cape Kumukahi, FAD Buoy A, FAD Buoy HK, FAD Buoy E, FAD Buoy D, FAD

  Buoy G, FAD Buoy SS, and Hilo Harbor.
