The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  A Dam Failure on the Kaukonahua Stream below Wahiawa Dam on...

  The island of Oahu in Honolulu County



* Until 115 PM HST.



* At 822 AM HST, local law enforcement reported the imminent failure 

  of Wahiawa Dam.



  HAZARD...Flash flooding from the imminent failure of Wahiawa

           Dam.



  SOURCE...Emergency management.



  IMPACT...Flooding of areas downstream from the Wahiawa Dam

           along the Kaukonahua Stream.



* The nearest downstream area from the dam is Waialua, Haleiwa, and 

  Kaukonahua Stream.



This includes the following streams and drainages...

  Kaukonahua Stm- Wahiawa, Waialua Town, Anahulu R- Haleiwa, 

  Kaukonahua Stm- Schofield, Kaukonahua Stm- Waialua, Mohiakea Gul, 

  Poamoho Stm- Kaukonahua Hwy, Kaukonahua Stm- N Fork Wahiawa, 

  Helemano/Opaeula Stm- Haleiwa, Poamoho Stm- Dole Fields and Kiikii 

  Stm- Waialua.

Flooding is occurring along the Kaukonahua Stream.



This warning may need to be extended beyond 115 PM HST if flooding 

persists.
