  Maalaea Bay...

  Maui County Leeward Waters...

  Maui County Windward Waters...

  Pailolo Channel...



* Until 1230 AM HST.



* At 1023 PM HST, a line of heavy showers and thunderstorms was 

  located over the Maui waters extending northeast from south of 

  Lanai to Maui Windward waters moving northeast at 30 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

           suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Upolu Point, FAD Buoy OT, FAD Buoy K, Kahului Harbor, FAD Buoy MC,

  FAD Buoy GG, FAD Buoy Nl, and FAD Buoy SO.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding

downpours. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are

wearing life jackets.

1035 PM HST Sat Mar 21 2026



The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  The island of Maui in Maui County



* Until 145 AM HST.



* At 1035 PM HST, radar indicated heavy showers and thunderstorms 

  expanding across all of Maui, with rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches 

  per hour now occurring island-wide. Emergency management continues 

  to report road closures in the Lahaina, Kahului, and Wailuku 

  areas. Additional heavy showers developing and lifting northward 

  over the island will likely continue through the overnight hours. 

  Given saturated ground conditions from recent heavy rainfall, 

  dangerous runoff and flash flooding impacts could occur quickly as 

  water levels in streams rise.



  HAZARD...Heavy rain producing life threatening flash flooding.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Significant and life threatening flooding in

           drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and

           other low lying areas. Multiple public road closures

           expected, as well as landslides in steep terrain.



* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

   This includes the entire island of Maui.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even 

if they are currently dry.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



The heavy rains may cause rock and mudslides in steep terrain areas.



This replaces the previous Flash Flood Warning for West Maui.

This warning may need to be extended beyond 145 AM HST if flooding 

persists.
