  Island MI 5NM off shore to the US/Canadian Border...

  Upper Entrance of Portage Canal to Eagle River MI...



At 318 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This

thunderstorm was located 20 nm northwest of The Upper Entrance of

Portage Canal, or 38 nm southwest of Mott Island Park Headquarters,

moving east at 20 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until this storm passes.
