the reef...

Bayside and Gulf side from Craig Key to west end of Seven Mile

Bridge...

Florida Bay including Barnes Sound, Blackwater Sound, and Buttonwood

Sound...



At 332 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a

strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.

This thunderstorm was located near Long Key Viaduct, moving northeast

at 20 knots.



Locations that will be affected include...

Whale Harbor, Channel Key Pass Light, Twin Keys, Florida Bay, Long

Key Viaduct, Steam Boat Channel, and Little Rabbit Key.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally

rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and

potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as

safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.

  Florida Bay including Barnes Sound, Blackwater Sound, and

  Buttonwood Sound...



* Until 400 PM EDT.



* At 335 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Long Key

  Viaduct, moving northeast at 20 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...National Weather Service Meteorologist.



  IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher 

           waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours.

  Coon Key, Whale Harbor, Dump Keys, Twin Keys, Florida Bay, Long Key

  Viaduct, and Steam Boat Channel.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Boaters should seek safe harbor as quickly, and as safely as

possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.



Intense and continuous lightning is occurring with this storm. Stay

low, or go below. Lower VHF antenna, outriggers, fishing rods, and

umbrellas.
