A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...



Nearshore and open waters of Lake Michigan from Sturgeon Bay to

Sheboygan...



At 204 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, 

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was 

located near Sheboygan, moving northeast at 35 knots.



Behind the strong thunderstorm near Sheboygan, showers and scattered 

thunderstorms continued across east-central Wisconsin. Gusty winds 

to around 30 knots were also observed with the area of showers and 

storms.



The gusty winds and thunderstorms will impact the nearshore and open

waters from Kewaunee southward through Sheboygan.  



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until this storm passes.

At 229 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line

extending from 19 nm east of Port Washington to near Winthrop Harbor,

moving east at 40 knots.



HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

         suddenly higher waves.



Strong thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.
