The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Lake Erie from Sturgeon Point to Erie Basin Marina... 

  The Upper and Lower Niagara River and Buffalo Harbor...



* Until 1015 AM EDT.



* At 917 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 16 nm west of

  Grand Island, or 20 nm southwest of Niagara River, moving southeast

  at 25 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

           suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Small Boat Harbor, Sturgeon Point, Grand Island, Athol Springs,

  Wanakah, and Erie Basin Marina.

...WEAK WATERSPOUTS POSSIBLE THIS MORNING...



A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the nearshore coastal 

waters of southeastern Louisiana near and to the west of the 

southwest pass of the Mississippi River, including Barataria and 

Terrebonne Bays.



Isolated to scattered showers and a few thunderstorms continue to 

develop across these areas. The showers and storms are nearly 

stationary or drifting slowly northwestward. Weak waterspouts will 

be possible with this activity. Remain on alert in case warnings are 

issued for waterspout development.

Sound, Chandeleur Sound, and the coastal waters from Pascagoula to 

Stake Island out 20 NM. 



Isolated to scattered showers and a few thunderstorms continue to 

develop across these areas. The showers and storms are nearly 

stationary or drifting slowly westward. Weak waterspouts will be 

possible with this activity. Remain on alert in case warnings are 

issued for waterspout development.
