At 1043 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was

located 18 nm east of Jacksonville Beach, or 28 nm northeast of Saint

Augustine, moving north at 10 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until this storm passes.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  Central Pike County in southwestern Arkansas...



* Until 100 PM CDT.



* At 955 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing

  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain

  have fallen in the last hour. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4

  inches per hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin

  shortly.



  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

           drainage and low-lying areas.



* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Murfreesboro, Crater Of Diamonds State Park, Pike City, Roy and

  Highland in Pike County.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.



In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are

potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded

roads. Find an alternate route.



Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where

you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become

killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or

creeks.
