The areas affected include...

  Waters from Savannah GA to Altamaha Sound GA out 60 NM...



* At 1102 AM EDT, The environment across the Atlantic coastal waters

  will be suitable for waterspout formation this morning. The

  waterspout risk will be greatest near lines of towering cumulus

  clouds and in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms. The risk

  for waterspouts is expected to diminish by midday.



Locations impacted include...

  R2 Tower, Tug Matt Turecamo, Tug Delta Diamond, C C A Buoy, Honey

  Barge, Tug Senasqua, Sayler Barge, Latex Barge, Dredge Henry, Buoy

  J, Buoy L, Ferry Boat Janet, Tug Elmira, Buoy Tender Sagebrush and

  Tug Rio Apon.

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Breton Sound...

  Chandeleur Sound...

  Coastal Waters from Boothville LA to Southwest Pass of the

  Mississippi River out 20 nm...



* Until 1115 AM CDT.



* At 1016 AM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of

  producing waterspouts was located over Breton Sound, moving west at

  15 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage 

           vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. 

           Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

           suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Breton Sound, Empire, and Port Sulphur.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.

Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move

to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
