This thunderstorm was located 24 nm south of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, or 37 nm southeast of Timbalier Island, moving west at 15 knots. The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes.
