AFTERNOON FOR SOUTH CENTRAL GARFIELD AND NORTHEASTERN KANE

COUNTIES...



At 1106 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy

rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to

begin shortly.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of normally dry washes, slot

         canyons, creeks, streams and the Escalante River.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  The Escalante River from south of Calf Creek to the terminus at

  Lake Powell, as well as slot canyons near Hole-in-the-Rock Road

  including Spencer, Tunnel, The Gulch, Red Breaks, Zebra, and Egypt

  2 and 3.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

* At 1027 AM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing

  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of

  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches

  are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or

  expected to begin shortly.



  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

           flash flooding.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Roosevelt Estates and the areas surrounding the Black Burn Scar.
