...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM EDT THIS

AFTERNOON FOR CENTRAL WASHINGTON COUNTY...



At 1142 AM EDT, Soppler radar indicated that rain was ending across

the warned area. Earlier, emergency management reported several

instances of flash flooding across the warned area. Between 1.5 and

2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.0

inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already

occurring.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.



SOURCE...Emergency management reported.



IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low-lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Washington, Canonsburg, Avella, Wolfdale, McGovern, Bentleyville,

  East Washington, New Eagle, Baidland, Houston, Ellsworth,

  Claysville, Deemston, Eighty Four, Cokeburg, Hickory, Beallsville

  and West Alexander.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

* At 1146 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,

  capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This strong

  thunderstorm was located 6 NM southeast of Buoy J, moving southwest

  at 5 knots.



Locations impacted include...

  Honey Barge, Buoy J, Tug Elmira, Ferry Boat Janet, Buoy Tender

  Sagebrush, Grays Reef Buoy and Sapelo Buoy S.
