...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS TO THE SOUTH OF THE 

TORTUGAS ECOLOGICAL RESERVE SOUTH...



The areas affected include...

Straits of Florida from Halfmoon Shoal to 20 nm west of Dry Tortugas

out 60 nm...



At 717 AM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a

strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.

This thunderstorm was located 21 nm south of Tortugas Ecological

Reserve South, moving west at 15 knots.



The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally

rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and

potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as

safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.

The areas affected include...

Straits of Florida from Halfmoon Shoal to 20 nm west of Dry Tortugas

out 60 nm...



At 753 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a a strong thunderstorm,

capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots. This thunderstorm was

located 27 nm south of Tortugas Ecological Reserve South, moving

southwest at 10 knots.



The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
