The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Cape Suckling to Cape Cleare from 15 to 75 NM...

  Cape Suckling to Gravel Point out to 15 NM...

  Central and Eastern Prince William Sound...

  Gravel Point to Cape Cleare out to 15 NM...

  Southwest Prince William Sound...



* Until 330 AM AKST/230 AM HST/.



* At 225 AM AKST/125 AM HST/, satellite imagery indicated strong 

  thunderstorms capable of producing winds 34 knots or greater, 

  small hail, and frequent lightning. These storms were located 

  along a line extending from 56 nm west of Copper River Delta to 41 

  nm southeast of Whittier, moving northwest at 40 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds, high waves, dangerous lightning, and

heavy rains. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these

storms pass.



Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the 

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded 

metal objects.
