At 918 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicates that the training thunderstorms responsible for torrential rainfall across central Laurens County have dissipated. Additional heavy rainfall is not expected tonight. However, storm-total rainfall of 2-5" has occurred along an axis from the Greenwood County line to Waterloo, Laurens, Ora, and Clinton, resulting in significant rises on area streams, including Cane Creek near Waterloo, Burnt Mill Creek south of Laurens, Little River from Laurens to Mountville, North Creek, Duncan Creek from Ora to Clinton, and Beards Fork Creek near Clinton. Areas of Minor flooding have been observed across this area, with numerous road closures being reported on social media and by Laurens County Emergency Management. Specific roadway flooding has been observed on East Main Street in Laurens and Fleming Mill Rd near Ora with at least six additional roads flooded in Laurens, three roads flooded in Clinton, and additional road closures near Waterloo. The Flash Flood Warning will may remain in effect for another 2-3 hours to allow area streams to crest and recede back below critical levels and allow floodwaters to recede across impacted roadways. Please stay away from streams, avoid flooded roadways, and obey all barricades until they are removed. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by training thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
