...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 AM CDT
FOR EAST CENTRAL CAMERON COUNTY...

At 941 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Holly Beach, 
or 8 miles west of South Padre Island, moving east at 20 mph. Port 
Isabel airport reported a wind gust of 61 mph at 932 AM CDT. 

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated and observed. 

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile 
         homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Laguna Vista Police Department, Holly Beach, Laguna Heights, Port
Isabel High School, and Port Isabel--Laguna Heights.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR EAST CENTRAL CAMERON COUNTY
WILL EXPIRE AT 1000 AM CDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will
be allowed to expire.  However, gusty winds and heavy rain are still
possible with this thunderstorm.
