At 100 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain continuing over the eastern end of the Salt Burn Scar. Up to 1.35 inches of rain already fell on the western half of the scar. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.4 inches are possible on the eastern end of the scar, where 0.30 inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. In addition, radar indicated up to 0.75 inches of rain fell on the western end of the South Fork Burn Scar. Heavy rain has ended there. Excessive rainfall on the Burn Scars will impact Upper Canyon, Brady Canyon, and Perk Canyon as well as the Cedar Creek, Eagle Creek and Rio Ruidoso drainages. Impacts will include but are not limited to all nearby reservoirs, bridges, culverts and roadways. Impacts to areas along the Rio Ruidoso may extend downstream of Ruidoso Downs. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding.
