The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Maricopa County in south central Arizona...

* Until 1230 AM MST.

* At 938 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. A Maricopa County
  Flood Control District streamflow gauge reached alarm stage at
  Rainbow Wash. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Buckeye and Painted Rock Dam. Low water crossings downstream of
  Rainbow Wash along Old US 80 and Patterson Road.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central La Paz County in west central Arizona...

* Until 1215 AM MST.

* At 945 PM MST, Trained weather spotters and the Arizona Department
  of Transportation reported a closure of Interstate 10 between exits
  17 and 19 in Quartzsite due to flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of
  rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional
  rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Quartzsite.
