* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The Northwestern City of Chesapeake in southeastern Virginia...
  The Southwestern City of Norfolk in southeastern Virginia...
  The City of Portsmouth in southeastern Virginia...
  The Northeastern City of Suffolk in southeastern Virginia...

* Until 530 PM EDT.

* At 223 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4 inches in 1
  hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

  Churchland, Deep Creek, Downtown Portsmouth, Old Dominion
  University, Downtown Norfolk, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth,
  Suffolk, Bowers Hill, Western Branch, Cradock, Driver, Ghent,
  Deanes, Huntersville, South Norfolk, Wilroy and Portlock.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
