EASTERN CURRY AND EAST CENTRAL ROOSEVELT COUNTIES...

The threat for heavy rain and flash flooding has diminished for now
but another round of thunderstorms is developing and may impact areas
around Broadview and Bellview. Additional Flash Flood Warning may be
needed. Please continue to heed any remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1200 AM MDT for portions of
central, east central, and southeast New Mexico.

FOR CENTRAL SOCORRO COUNTY...

At 1117 PM MDT, the thunderstorms that produced heavy rain across
Socorro and Luis Lopez have ended. Up to 6 inches of rain have
fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected. Flash flooding is already occurring in Socorro.

  FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Socorro and Luis Lopez. This is a
  PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
         GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water
         crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways,
         streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Socorro, Escondida, Lemitar, San Antonio, Luis Lopez and Laborcita.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 60 between Mile Markers 122 and 138. Interstate 25 between
Mile Markers 139 and 158.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water
crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
