* Special Marine Warning for...

  East Santa Barbara Channel from Pt. Conception to Pt. Mugu CA

  including Santa Cruz Island...



* Until 1000 AM PST.



* At 924 AM PST, a line of thunderstorms capable of producing 

  waterspouts was located near Goleta Point, or 27 nm east of Point 

  Conception, moving north at 10 to 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...



A cold storm system originating from Canada will dig down and cut

off to the north of coastal waters. As it cuts off, the storm will

pick up moisture off the eastern Pacific ocean. A marginally 

moist air mass will interact with the cold and unstable air mass 

aloft to bring the potential for thunderstorms across the coastal 

waters from late tonight through Monday morning. Any thunderstorm 

that forms will be capable of producing locally gale force winds 

and rough seas, dangerous lightning, heavy rainfall with reduced 

visibility, small hail, and waterspouts.
