The National Weather Service in OXNARD has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  East Santa Barbara Channel from Pt. Conception to Pt. Mugu CA

  including Santa Cruz Island...



* Until 1245 PM PST.



* At 1140 AM PST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located near Goleta Point, or 26 nm north of Santa

  Rosa Island. The severe thunderstorm was nearly stationary.



  HAZARD...Lightning, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, small hail, 

           and water spouts possible.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Goleta Point. El Capitan Beach.

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
