Isolated thunderstorms can be expected through 4 am morning 

across the coastal waters. Any thunderstorm will be accompanied by

lightning and could contain locally gusty and erratic winds, 

brief rough seas and reduced visibility in heavy rain.

...DANGEROUS ICE CONDITIONS POSSIBLE ON LAKE ERIE THROUGH TONIGHT...



Southwest winds will increase to 20 to 30 knots by late this 

morning and continue through much of tonight. These strong 

offshore winds, combined with milder air temperatures in the low 

to mid 30s, could cause ice floes to break off from the shoreline.

Anyone caught on the ice if this occurs would become stranded. It

is strongly advised to stay off the ice today and tonight.

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

  Inner waters from Point Mugu to San Mateo Pt. CA including Santa 

  Catalina and Anacapa Islands...



At 225 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, 

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots, small hail, and 

waterspouts. This thunderstorm was located near Avalon.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher 

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor 

immediately until this storm passes.

* Special Marine Warning for...

  Inner waters from Point Mugu to San Mateo Pt. CA including Santa

  Catalina and Anacapa Islands...



* Until 345 AM PST.



* At 243 AM PST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located near Avalon, moving east at 10 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small 

           hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
