A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

  Breton Sound...

  Coastal Waters from Boothville LA to Southwest Pass of the 

  Mississippi River out 20 nm...



At 913 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located

9 nm south of Breton Sound, moving southwest at 5 knots.



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe

harbor immediately until this activity passes.
