Around 900 AM CDT, buoys reported wind gusts to 30 kt and sporadic 

wave action following thunderstorms. Such conditions may linger 

through the remainder of this morning.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher 

waves, and sporadic wave action. Boaters should seek safe harbor 

immediately until conditions subside.

...A WAKE LOW IS PRODUCING GUSTY WINDS OVER THE WATERS...



The areas affected include...

Lake Michigan nearshore and open waters to mid lake from North Point

Light WI to Winthrop Harbor IL...



At 900 AM CDT, the southern mid lake buoy reported an abrupt wind 

shift to south-southeast with a wind gust of 27 knots. This happened 

behind an area of thunderstorms. Expect gusty southerly winds up to 

30 knots to persist for up to an hour after the storms exit this 

morning. The thunderstorm system that is currently over far 

southern Lake Michigan is moving southeast at 30 knots.

Mariners can expect and abrupt wind shift with gusty winds to around
