...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE CARIBBEAN AND ATLANTIC WATERS 

AND ANEGADA PASSAGE...



At 1020 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, 

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms

were located over mainly areas of the Caribbean and Atlantic Waters

and the Anegada Passage, moving northeast at 15 to 20 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek

safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.



Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the 

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded 

metal objects.



Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement

agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service

forecast office.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM CDT THIS 

EVENING FOR NORTHWESTERN REEVES COUNTY...



At 923 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 

rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have 

fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall 

is expected as storms have weakened and move out of the area.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



SOURCE...Radar.



IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low-lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  mainly rural areas of Northwestern Reeves County



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
