* Special Marine Warning for...

  S of Cape Hatteras NC to Ocracoke Inlet NC out to 20 nm...

  S of Ocracoke Inlet NC to Cape Lookout NC out to 20 nm...

  Waters from Cape Hatteras to Ocracoke Inlet NC from 20 to 40 nm...



* Until 1245 AM EST.



* At 1209 AM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located 10 nm south of Ar225, or 11 nm southwest of

  Monitor Marine Sanctuary, moving north at 35 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Cape Hatteras, Ar225, Hatteras Inlet, Ar230, and Ar220.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.

Kauai Leeward Waters...



At 735 PM HST, a strong thunderstorm was located near Southern Tip of

Niihau, or 32 nm southwest of Barking Sands, moving west at 10 knots.



HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

         suddenly higher waves.



The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding

downpours. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are
