The heavy rain has ended. Flooding of low lying and/or poor drainage 

areas may continue for a few hours until the water has had a chance 

to recede. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.



A Flood Watch remains in effect until 300 PM CST for portions of 

north central and northeast Texas.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 AM CST THIS 

MORNING FOR SOUTHERN DALLAS AND NORTHWESTERN ELLIS COUNTIES...



At 944 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 

thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 

and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 

1 inch are forecast. Flash flooding is likely ongoing.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.



IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Dallas, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Mansfield, Desoto, Cedar Hill, 

  Duncanville, Lancaster, Waxahachie, Balch Springs, Ennis, 

  Midlothian, Seagoville, Glenn Heights, Red Oak, Hutchins, Cockrell 

  Hill, Sunnyvale, Wilmer and Ovilla.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
