The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Kauai Channel...

  Kauai Windward Waters...

  Oahu Windward Waters...



* Until 400 PM HST.



* At 152 PM HST, severe thunderstorms capable of producing

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from FAD Buoy BB to

  7 nm east of FAD Buoy WK, moving northeast at 25 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  FAD Buoy BB, FAD Buoy DK, FAD Buoy Z, and FAD Buoy WK.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding

downpours. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are
