Cold arctic air is beginning to dominate the Panhandle, forming gale force to strong gale force outflow conditions along and north of the Icy Strait Corridor (Cross Sound to Taku Inlet). Heavy freezing spray has become more widespread and will likely continue into the weekend for Glacier Bay, Lynn Canal, and Taku Inlet. This threat is likely in areas near Pt. Couverden and Scull Island as well. In addition, light to moderate freezing spray may be encountered as far south as Southern Chatham, and Sumner Straits tonight into the weekend.
