S of Oregon Inlet NC to Cape Hatteras NC out to 20 nm...

Waters from Oregon Inlet to Cape Hatteras NC from 20 to 40 nm...



At 400 AM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts

was located 10 nm northeast of Diamond Shoals, moving northeast at 40

knots.



HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

         hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

         higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.



Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily

overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor

immediately.

  Cabarrus County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

  Central Mecklenburg County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...



* Until 600 AM EST.



* At 455 AM EST, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles southwest

  of Downtown Concord, or over Charlotte Motor Speedway, moving east

  at 45 mph.



  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.



* Locations impacted include...

  Downtown Concord, Northeast Charlotte, West Concord, Harrisburg, Mt

  Pleasant, University City, Reedy Creek Park, Charlotte Motor
