The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a



* Snow Squall Warning for...

  Northern Clinton County in northern New York...

  Northern Franklin County in northern New York...

  Northeastern St. Lawrence County in northern New York...



* Until 1130 PM EST.



* At 1028 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line

  extending from near Earlville to near Constable to Chipman, moving

  east at 45 mph.



  HAZARD...Flash freeze on roads. Intense bursts of heavy snow. 

           Gusty winds leading to blowing snow and rapidly falling 

           visibility. Wind gusts greater than 35 mph.



  SOURCE...Radar and webcams.



  IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous 

           within minutes.



This includes Interstate 87 between mile markers 153 and 176.

Mooers Village, Burke Village, Brushton, Malone Village, Potsdam

Village, Norwood, Dannemora, Champlain Village, Chateaugay Village,

Champlain, Potsdam, Bangor, Burke, Moira, Altona, Madrid, Norfolk,

Chazy, Constable, and Beekmantown.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Wet roadways will quickly freeze. Black ice will cause roads,

bridges, and overpasses to become slick and dangerous. Slow down and 

be prepared for a sudden loss of traction. Be alert for sudden 

whiteout conditions.
