...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CHST EARLY THIS 

MORNING FOR GUAM...



At 508 AM ChST, The public reports heavy rain and flooded streets 

across portions of southern Guam, particularly in the village of 

Merizo. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in the past hour, 

as noted at several automated rain gauges. The expected rainfall 

rate is 2 to 4 inches per hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 

3 inches are possible across central and southern Guam. Flash 

flooding is already occurring.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.



SOURCE...Public reported.



IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         and streets as well as other poor drainage and low-lying

         areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Tamuning, Mangilao, Chalan Pago-Ordot, Barrigada, Yona, Hagatna 

  Heights, Talofofo, Mongmong-Toto-Maite, Sinajana, Inarajan, Asan, 

  Merizo, Piti, Santa Rita and Umatac.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
