...CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS LATE NEW YEARS EVE THROUGH NEW YEARS 

DAY...



A moist and unstable air mass will bring a chance of 

thunderstorms to the coastal waters late December 31, 2025 

through January 1, 2026, mainly for the waters south of Point 

Conception including the immediate coasts of Orange, Los Angeles,

Ventura, and southern Santa Barbara counties. There is also low 

chance for a thunderstorm to develop across the waters adjacent to

the Central Coast during the same time frame, and the Marine

Weather Statement (MWS) may need to be expanded to the waters

further north.



Any thunderstorm that forms will be capable of producing locally 

gale force winds and rough seas, dangerous lightning, heavy 

rainfall with reduced visibility, and waterspouts.
