The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Coastal waters from Cape Falcon to Cape Foulweather OR out 10 nm...

  Waters from Cape Falcon to Cape Foulweather OR from 10 to 60 nm...



* Until 845 AM PST.   



* At 810 AM PST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located 26 nm west of Cape Meares, or 27 nm west of

  Garibaldi, moving east at 35 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.



Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded

metal objects.

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a



* Snow Squall Warning for...

  Southwestern Jefferson County in southwestern Montana...



* Until 1030 AM MST.



* At 954 AM MST, a dangerous snow squall was located near Homestake 

  Pass, moving southeast at 20 mph.



  HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to 

           blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts 

           up to 40 mph.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous 

           within minutes.



This includes Interstate 90 between mile markers 246 and 235.

 

This snow squall will impact the Homestake Pass area.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Reduce speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the

visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions.
