The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico AND USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N...



* Until 1030 PM AST.



* At 833 PM AST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing 

  waterspouts was located over mainly areas of the offshore Atlantic 

  waters, moving north at 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.
